Talaria 81v EBMX Controller & EC Battery Upgrade. The EBMX Xtreme Electric Mods combine strenuous in-house R&D and collaborations with industry experts to bring you the ultimate Electric Dirt Bike Motor Controller.

The X-9000 V2 has been purpose built from the ground up with a wide range of dirt bike riders in mind and is capable of power inputs of up to 36kW and 900 phase amps and includes many custom features to dial in the performance and feel of your electric dirt bike.

Talaria 81.4v 22s Battery REALLY ROCKS!

Talaria 81.4v 22s Battery 4070Wh 50Ah “Trojan” for 21Kw 22s:  Why? Because a electric motor spins so many times per volt. More volts more spins (RPM) more top speed. But here is the geeky and cool bit (literally). Amps create heat, so the less amps you use, the cooler stuff runs (heat kills electrical components as the heat literally melts soldered contacts internally, insulation burns off and glues melt). When you increase voltage, you need less amps to get the same amount of  power. For example, a 72v battery running at 200 Amps gives 14400 watts. But if you use a 81.4 battery at 200 amps, you get 16200Watts!!! So if you want to run cooler then drop your amps back down to 176A and your still hitting the same power. Or just keep the amps the same and go waaaayyyyy faster !!!!!!!!!

Talaria 81.4v 22s Battery has the same power density of its  brother the 72v Dominator. They are extremely similar batteries, just reconfigured. The Dominator is a touch more brute force, while this is more refined.

This is a 81.4v 50Ah Battery capable of peak 23kW power (340A peak discharge for 51 seconds until cut off on mosfet temp protection)

We recommend 18Kw continuous at 230A discharge with a burst setting of 23Kw.

Our premium battery just got better!!! We swapped out the brilliant Molicell P42A and upgraded to one of the most expensive cells money can buy: The class leading Samsung 50S 21700 cylindrical steel jacketed cells (no puffy cheap pouches here). These cells give almost 20% more range than the Molicell and can supply the monster amp draw our controllers require.

We then swapped out our standard 330A BMS for a special order 400A BMS. This means these batteries can now continuously supply 180 amps and burst to 400A. This new super high output power can now handle bikes with the extra powerful: Sotion, EBMX and KO motors; yet keep the standard OEM Talaria motor  running for huge long rides.

We then upgraded the casing from stainless steel 304 to marine grade 316 so absolutely no rust issues here! Super tough and powder coated inside and out.

The main battery to controller connectors we use are the same type as used by Talaria but we use two sets to share “parallel” the power. This reduces heat, transfers load more efficiently and keeps the connectors from overheating.

The 81.4v 50Ah Talaria Battery 22S10P 4070Wh Samsung 50s 21700 cell. The UK retail price of these cells is over £9.99 each!! The cells are genuine branded cells specifically designed for high output discharge and sustained high drain. Other inferior cells (pouch) used in cheaper packs simply can’t deliver like these.

Our last and most recent upgrade is to supply one direct set of discharge cables to the controller via a high capacity QS8 connector using very large 6AWG cables (this reduces internal resistance and heat build up) and a separate second set of discharge cables using the original 8AWG cable via a Supra D6 connector to the OEM loom via circuit breaker. This means all your bike accessories are still powered. Some believe that not using the circuit breaker direct to the controller  removes the safety of the circuit breaker. However, all our batteries have a full working BMS. Any power shorts or irregular current and the BMS shuts down,  Much more sensitive and accurate than a mechanical breaker.

Size

Because of the extra battery height (373mm), an aftermarket battery compartment lid will need to be fitted for Talaria bikes. Some customers have opted for the more simple method of removing the original lid and using a ratchet strap to hold in place. Fitting

The battery uses two sets of discharge cables. One to fit the original bikes connector (for Talari we supply an adapter so it can also fit a Sur Ron too). The second goes to an additional cable that we provide that is fixed direct to the controller. This enables the power to be fed “In Parallel” increasing the electrical flow, reducing resistance and reducing harmful heat. It shares the power delivery and takes the strain away from the original loom. However, these must be connected in a correct order (simple instructions supplied).

Torp do not like direct power to the controller (your second cable), so please just do not use the additional power cable. We do not like to remove these as often buyers transfer batteries to another bike.
