Motorcycle Portable Jump Starter Batttery Pack 12V 5000A
Specially adapted by Electron Cycles to make that awkward starting moment a lot easier.
From years of riding, especially green lanes here in Devon. On bikes like the KTM Adventure 890R, Husky Fe501 or older bikes like the Yamaha TT600RE, all equipped with batteries that often fail in mid-winter. They simply do not always crank enough amps on a cold morning, to get the bikes to spin enough to start.
Out on the trail, with the bike dropped and flooded. Lights left on, or too many stalls on that endless gnarly climb.
A battery back up becomes a god send. BUT, they’re often too big or just too painful to hook up to the battery or carry on the bike.
Most Enduro bikes don’t have a key seat mechanism, so its tools out, undo the seat bolts and then the battery. The Yamaha T700 WR for example needs bolts taken out, as does the Yamaha TT600Re AND most KTM – Husky EXCF etc etc.
When you get the seat off, a lot of these bikes have the battery buried inside under a cover. The Husky FE501 is a particular pain to get to, and its just one of many bikes like that.
You dont just need this for use in your freezing cold garage, as its just as important to have on rocky muddy trail, stuck at the side of the road/track. Use it anywhere to save flat battery night mare.
Most jump packs come with two huge (and quite frankly useless) crocodile clips designed for cars. Way too big to carry on a bike and they often cant even access the battery lugs! We cut them off, add a connector so they can still be used if required, but now you have the choice to leave at home and save some valuable tool bag space.
So our solution, tried and tested:
Replace the crocodile clips with a heavy duty anti spark connector. So much smaller and easier to carry.
We then supply for bike side, a heavy duty high quality battery loom that has two lugs to permantly attach to the battery. The other end of the cables has the female side connector (and a removable safety cap).
The loom will be made specially custom made for you (simply state in the checkout notes required legnth), how long you want your cables. They can hang down the side of the bike, under the seat etc. Any length you want up to 30omm per cable (1 x red positive, 1 x black negative). We can do longer but at an extra cost. If we don’t get a message we will supply with our default 200mm per cable length (its shown on the KTM photo).
The pack comes with a waterproof wallet. We put ours in a Acerbis Tail tool pack. Its bounced all around Exmoor and Dartmoor on the back of our Husky Fe501, so we know it works.
