Talaria Battery 81.4v 22s REALLY ROCKS!
Talaria Battery 81v 50Ah Trojan 22s 4070Wh for 25Kw High Power Long Range really rocks! Why? Because an electric motor spins so many times per volt. This means more volts and you get more spins (RPM) and you get more top speed. But here is the geeky and cool bit (literally): Amps create heat so the less amps you use, the cooler stuff runs. Heat kills electrical components as the heat literally melts soldered contacts internally, insulation burns off and glues melt.
Cells
There are 220 cells in this battery and all have internal resistance. The more resistance, the more heat they produce, until they start to damage. With this low resistance the cells are able to supply enormous amounts of power without over heating.
Power
This is a 81.4v 22s 4070Wh 50Ah Trojan for 25Kw as limited by the 550A (peak/burst) by the Ant 550 BMS. A genuine constant power of 17.9Kw (220A non stop). We recommend 18Kw continuous at 230A discharge with a burst setting of 25Kw.
Exoskeleton / Casing
We have upgraded the casing to marine grade 316 stainless steel, so absolutely no rust issues here! Super tough and powder coated inside and out.
Connectors
The main battery to controller connectors we use are the same type as used by Talaria
Domestic Electrics
This means all your bike accessories are still powered. Some believe that not using the circuit breaker direct to the controller removes the safety of the circuit breaker. However, all our batteries have a full working BMS. Any power shorts or irregular current and the BMS shuts down. This is much more sensitive and accurate than a mechanical breaker (you may note, for example that the Sur Ron Ultra Bee does not use a circuit breaker and relies on the BMS alone).
Fitting
The battery uses two sets of discharge cables. One to fit the original bikes connector
Because of the extra battery height (373mm), an aftermarket battery compartment lid will need to be fitted for Talaria bikes. Some customers have opted for the more simple method of removing the original lid and using a ratchet strap to hold in place. Can be found here: https://www.electroncycles.co.uk/product/replacement-strap-and-buckle-for-ec-talaria-and-sur-ron-batteries/
Battery Compartment Lids or Lifting Kits
Because of the extra battery height (373mm) minor modification will needed to your bike.
There are several options:
#1 Fit an aftermarket battery compartment lid found here: https://electroncycles.com/product/talaria-battery-compartment-injection-moulded-battery-lid-to-fit-taller-batteries-not-3d-printed/
#2 Remove the battery plastic base tray in the bike (simply remove the 5 small allen key bolts from the top looking down) and fit our 5mm spacer between the metal battery lid catch and the lid (spacers provided)
#3 Seat Lift Kit option: https://www.electroncycles.co.uk/product/talaria-mx-seat-lift-kit-black-full-e-charged/

Battery Charging
First time charging is VERY important. Always connect the charger to the battery with the charger powered up at the mains first. This will stop a “Connection Spark”. The battery needs a “Balance Charge” on first charge. Please charge for 12 hours first time. Always charge your battery in a safe place and never unsupervised.
